Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team Joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

Get ready for a dungeon-crawling adventure! Nintendo has announced that the classic Game Boy Advance title, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, will be available on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service starting August 9th. This roguelike Pokémon spin-off lets players experience the world from the perspective of a Pokémon, tackling dungeons and solving the mystery of their transformation.

This addition expands the already impressive library of classic games available through the Expansion Pack, which also includes titles from the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis libraries. However, the inclusion of primarily Pokémon spin-offs, such as Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Puzzle League, has led to fan requests for mainline Pokémon titles like Pokémon Red and Blue. Speculation regarding the absence of core series games ranges from N64 Transfer Pak compatibility issues to potential infrastructure challenges and complexities related to the Pokémon Home app integration.
