By DanielMay 07,2025

The Pokémon Trading Card Game: Scarlet & Violet — Journey Together set, launching on March 28, 2025, is set to bring back a beloved mechanic from 2004: Trainer's Pokémon. This nostalgic feature, reminiscent of classics from EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua, adds a thrilling layer of personality to battles, and I'm thrilled to give you a sneak peek into what this set offers.

With over 180 cards, there's a treasure trove of collectibles to hunt down. The set boasts over 40 Trainer's Pokémon, 16 Pokémon ex, 11 Illustration Rares, six Special Illustration Rares, and three Hyper Rare gold cards. Box Toppers make a comeback, with Enhanced Booster Display Boxes featuring a stamped N's Reshiram Illustration Rare.

Journey Together Standard Booster Box

Opening a Booster Box is an exhilarating experience. With 36 packs, each pull is a thrilling surprise. My highlights included N's Reshiram Illustration Rare, Iono's Bellibolt ex Secret Rare, and the Hyper Rare Spiky Energy. While I didn't pull Hop's Zacian ex or Lillie's Clefairy ex Special Art Rare, the sheer volume of packs offered plenty of chances for exciting discoveries. If you enjoy the thrill of pack-opening or need a substantial addition to your collection, a Booster Box is a fantastic choice.

Journey Together Elite Trainer Box

Elite Trainer Boxes offer a premium experience. The N's Zorua promo immediately caught my attention, and the box itself is perfect for organizing your cards. With included sleeves, dice, and condition markers, it's a must-have for players. Despite only having nine booster packs, I was thrilled to pull Iono's Kilowattrel Illustration Rare, Articuno Illustration Rare, and Veluza ex. While it doesn't provide as many hits as a Booster Box, the structured, all-in-one package is a great way to dive into Journey Together.

Journey Together Build & Battle Box

Build & Battle Boxes offer a unique experience, letting you jump straight into gameplay with a prebuilt 40-card deck. My promo was Hop's Snorlax, a card that significantly enhances any Hop-based deck with its 30-damage boost ability. The four packs also yielded Mamoswine ex and Swinub Illustration Rare, perfectly complementing the deck's theme. If you're eager to start playing with the new set, this is the way to go.
