Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, the moment you've been waiting for is here — IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This exciting news was shared on IO Interactive’s website, where they revealed that the game will delve into an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
According to the developers, "Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story." This statement sets the stage for what promises to be a thrilling journey into the life of the legendary spy.
In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's Head, Hakan Abrak, shared his enthusiasm about crafting a brand new origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak further elaborated on the vision for the game, stating, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
While fans eagerly await more details, a release date for Project 007 has yet to be announced. In the meantime, you can stay updated on all the latest announcements from the Nintendo Direct by clicking here.
