Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Releases First Chapter

Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Chapter 1 Now Available!

Dive into the world of Metaphor: ReFantazio like never before! The first chapter of the official manga adaptation is now available to read for free on MANGA Plus. Atlus and Shueisha have teamed up to bring you this exciting new chapter, illustrated by the talented Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony).

While staying true to the spirit of the game, the manga takes some creative liberties, significantly altering the opening storyline. Expect to see changes like the omission of an initial game area, the introduction of entirely new events, and a restructuring of existing ones, impacting how the protagonist meets his allies. Interestingly, the manga officially confirms the protagonist's name as Will, aligning with the game's default option.

The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, simultaneously launching in Japan and globally.

From Atlus and Studio Zero (led by Katsura Hashino, the mastermind behind the Persona series), Metaphor: ReFantazio introduces us to Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a quest to save the prince of Euchronia. However, the king's assassination throws the kingdom into turmoil, leading to an unprecedented election to determine the next ruler. Will finds himself thrust into a conflict far larger than he ever imagined.

The game's phenomenal success speaks for itself—selling over one million copies worldwide on its launch day, making it Atlus' fastest-selling title, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload. The critical response has been overwhelmingly positive, earning numerous accolades, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative at the 2024 Game Awards.

Experience Metaphor: ReFantazio for yourself on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
