How to Respec in Avowed

By MichaelMar 17,2025

Feeling frustrated with your Avowed character's build? It happens! Sometimes that initial class choice or attribute distribution just doesn't pan out as planned. This guide will show you how to respec your character, abilities, and even your companion in Avowed, letting you craft the perfect hero.

How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Should)

Choosing the right build at the start of a game is tough. That's where respeccing comes in handy. If your character isn't playing the way you envisioned, it's time for a change. I found this especially useful in Avowed; I initially went for a full wizard, only to discover I needed a more balanced spellsword build. Later in the game, respeccing will help you optimize your character for maximum battle effectiveness and achieve your ideal build.

How to Respec Your Abilities in Avowed

To respec your abilities, open the menu and go to the "Abilities" section. Near the bottom, you'll find the "Reset Points" option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, increasing with game progression. Select the option, confirm your choice, and pay the price. This resets all ability points across skill trees, except for the unchangeable "Godlike" abilities (obtained through in-game choices).

How to Respec Your Attributes in Avowed

Happy with your abilities but not your attributes? Or maybe you want a complete overhaul? Open the menu, navigate to the "Character" section, and look beneath the attribute list. You'll see a button with an associated cost (starting at 100 Copper Skeyt, increasing over time). Press the button, pay the cost, and reclaim your attribute points.

How to Respec Your Companion in Avowed

To respec your companion, open the menu, go to "Abilities," and select the "Companions" tab. Under your companion's name, you'll find a button to exchange Copper Skeyt and reset their points. Remember, you need to respec each companion individually.

And there you have it! Now you can tweak your Avowed experience to perfection.

Avowed is available now.
