Sony opened its September 2025 State of Play event by revealing that Housemarque’s highly anticipated follow-up to Returnal, titled Saros, will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on March 20, 2026.
During the extended gameplay premiere, creative director Gregory Louden detailed several evolutions to Returnal’s narrative-driven roguelike structure. While Saros retains the signature high-speed, bullet-hell combat of its predecessor, the showcase introduced new gameplay elements such as the Second Chance system, the Soltari Shield, and powerful Power Weapons.
