Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest

Before Rosa requests her book, you must complete the "Via Argentum" quest and begin "Taking French Leave." After assisting the Ruthard family with Vavak (whether through combat or diplomacy), you'll be instructed to speak with Rosa about a secret Maleshov passage for Hans' rescue. When she asks about retrieving her book during this conversation, inquire about the title and agree to fetch it to initiate "Rosa's Book."

This quest must be completed during "Taking French Leave" - failing to retrieve the book before escaping with Hans locks you out of both the quest completion and potential romance with Rosa. Fortunately, the book lies along your path to Hans' location.

When infiltrating Maleshov, Hans awaits in the tallest tower's uppermost level. Use exterior stairs to access the building, then quietly enter and locate an adjacent kitchen where you can hide from conversing guards.

Proceed upstairs to discover Lady Ofka's chamber - with her gaze fixed on the fireplace, you can stealthily incapacitate her. Collect her keys, additional keys from the room's podium, and weapons from chests. Rosa's book appears as a red volume resting in the window alcove to the fireplace's right. Securing it updates your objective.

Before leaving, acquire the adjacent room's sword to prepare for Hans' forthcoming needs. Having accomplished everything, ascend to the top level and unlock the left door to trigger a crucial cutscene.

The remaining "Taking French Leave" sequence plays out afterwards. Though Hans rejects the passageway, romantic opportunities emerge through consistent heart-option dialogue choices (assuming you selected similar options in Trosky). Finally, clear a path to northern stables by discreetly neutralizing guards, ensure Hans' safe passage, and trigger the escape sequence.

Upon returning to Kuttenberg City, visit Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's long-awaited book in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
