SEGA Icons Join Sonic Rumble in Historic Crossover Event!

Sonic Rumble, though not yet globally launched, has already kicked off an exciting crossover event titled Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is live now and will run until May 7th, right before the game's worldwide launch on May 8th. Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is available in over 40 countries, having rolled out in phases. Pre-launch 1 occurred in Summer 2024 in regions including the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by pre-launch 2 in Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

What’s in Store?

If you're in a region where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you can now participate in the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. Fans of Altered Beast will be thrilled to see the Werewolf transformation available for free. For those nostalgic for beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon transformations are also up for grabs, with the Weredragon exclusive to the Premium Pass and the Werebear possibly purchasable with regular rings.

Adding a touch of Fantasy Zone, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa have joined the fray. Opa-Opa can be acquired through the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa is available for purchase with standard rings, costing 700 rings per fragment. Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have made their way into the crossover, with AiAi requiring 729 Red Star Rings. Check out the event in action below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

During the event, players can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos in matches. While it might seem unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has assured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will return post-launch.

This inaugural crossover event showcases SEGA's rich history, blending characters like monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and powerful were-creatures with Sonic and his friends, making Sonic Rumble an exciting prospect for fans. You can download the game from the Google Play Store now or wait for its global release on May 8th in your region.
