Smite 2's Open Beta Launches with Aladdin and More!

Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, has officially launched its free-to-play open beta across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update.

This Unreal Engine 5-powered sequel boasts enhanced visuals and refined combat mechanics, along with a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility. The core gameplay remains true to its predecessor: players select gods from diverse mythologies and engage in 5v5 battles.

The open beta introduces a wealth of new content, headlined by Aladdin, a brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2. Aladdin’s unique abilities include wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic tied to his companion. His ultimate ability involves trapping enemies in a 1v1 duel using his magic lamp.

Beyond Aladdin, the update includes:

  • Five New Gods: Geb (Egyptian God of Earth), Mulan (Chinese Ascendant Warrior), Agni (Hindu Pantheon), Ullr (Norse Pantheon), and the aforementioned Aladdin.
  • Return of Joust: The beloved 3v3 mode makes a comeback.
  • New Map: An Arthurian-themed map joins the roster.
  • Conquest & Assault Updates: Improvements to existing maps and game modes.
  • God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.

Smite 2 New Content

Titan Forge Games' creative director has stated that Smite 2 surpasses its predecessor in numerous aspects, crediting player feedback from the closed alpha for significant improvements. The developer promises ambitious new content releases throughout 2025.

While available on most major platforms, Smite 2 is currently absent from the Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, the possibility of a future release on the Nintendo Switch 2 remains open.
