The previous generation, Sony XM4, was already a standout, but the XM5 introduces key improvements in noise cancellation and comfort. With a second processor and double the microphones dedicated to filtering out ambient noise, the XM5 excels. The redesigned earcups fit more snugly, creating a better seal for enhanced passive noise isolation. The noise cancellation is notably superior to the XM4 and outperforms most other noise-canceling headsets in its price range.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 also features a sleek new design with an updated headband adjustment. The wider band distributes weight more evenly, and the earcup padding, now made of luxurious synthetic leather, offers a softer and more comfortable fit, perfect for extended wear.
