Squid Game: Unleashed is getting a major content drop to celebrate the release of season two! Expect new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges. Plus, you can earn exclusive in-game rewards just by watching the new episodes on Netflix!
Netflix's surprising move to offer Squid Game: Unleashed for free to everyone, even non-subscribers, just before the holidays, is paying off. This new content update, starting January 3rd, is designed to incentivize both existing players and potential new ones.
Here's what's in store:
A new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game season two is launching. Three new playable characters – Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos – will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events to unlock them, running from January 3rd-9th and January 9th-14th respectively. And for those watching the show, there are extra rewards! Watching episodes of Squid Game season two earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
January's Content Schedule:
- January 3rd: New Mingle map and Geum-Ja character unlock event (Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event, featuring Mingle-inspired mini-games and Dalgona tin collection, runs until January 9th).
- January 9th: Thanos character arrives with his own unlock event (Thanos’ Red Light Challenge, requiring knife eliminations, runs until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed is proving to be a significant move for Netflix in the gaming world. The free-to-play model, combined with the reward system for Netflix subscribers who watch the show, is a clever strategy to boost both the game and the show's popularity.
