Fans eager to dive into the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld are in for a treat, but they'll need to jump into Fortnite to catch the premiere before it hits Disney+. Epic Games has announced an exciting expansion of its Star Wars content, unveiling that the initial two episodes of this animated series will debut exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of their strategy to enhance the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which promises a wealth of Star Wars-themed experiences.

You can witness the launch of Tales of the Underworld featuring Asajj Ventress in the Star Wars Watch Party island starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2, a full two days before the series becomes available to Disney+ subscribers. Epic Games encourages fans to connect their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While the full scope of linking these accounts remains under wraps, Epic hints at additional perks in the pipeline.

“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” stated Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”

The opportunity to watch both episodes of Tales of the Underworld will be available until May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will cease to be live. Additionally, the island will host a Battle Arena where players can engage in combat, wielding lightsabers against waves of foes. Those who view both episodes will be rewarded with an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a captivating six-episode series animated in the iconic style of The Clone Wars, focusing on the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis hints at Ventress confronting a new lease on life and a fresh alliance, while Bane grapples with his past.

Disney's partnership with Fortnite stretches beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, the House of Mouse acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for a long-term collaboration. This alliance will not only bring more Star Wars content but also introduce Marvel and Pixar outfits to the popular battle royale game. Among the highlights of the upcoming season are the intriguing additions of Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its debut in 2017, Fortnite has maintained its dominance in the gaming world. Recent collaborations, such as the one with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and engaging, encouraging players to swap their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
