Subtitles are a fantastic accessibility feature, but not everyone's cup of tea. Need to toggle subtitles on or off in Avowed? Here's how.
Avowed presents subtitle options early on, but you can easily change your mind later. There are actually two places to adjust subtitle settings:
Navigate to the "Settings" menu, then find either the "UI" or "Accessibility" tabs. Look for "Conversation Subtitles" and "Chatter Subtitles" and adjust them to your preference. The "Accessibility" tab offers the clearest path, but either works.
Why Some People Don't Use Subtitles
While I appreciate subtitles (they're essential for me!), many find them distracting. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal preference. Use them if you need or prefer them; otherwise, switch them off.
Avowed's Accessibility Features
Avowed's accessibility options, while not exhaustive, cover the basics. You can customize subtitle size, background opacity, and display duration for improved readability. Beyond subtitles, options to reduce motion sickness (camera shake, head bobbing, etc.) are included. Additional settings allow for aim assist adjustments, toggling crouch/sprint, and other helpful features to broaden accessibility.
And that's how to manage subtitles in Avowed. Enjoy!
Avowed is available now.
