Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in *Madame Web*, has been confirmed to star in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit video game *Split Fiction*. The game, developed by Hazelight and led by designer Josef Fares, has seen remarkable success since its launch in March, selling over 2 million copies in just one week. It's also set to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The film project is being spearheaded by Story Kitchen, the video game adaptation experts behind the successful *Sonic* films. They've assembled a talented team for *Split Fiction*, with *Wicked* director Jon M. Chu at the helm and the screenplay penned by *Deadpool & Wolverine* writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. This impressive talent package is now being pitched to Hollywood studios, sparking anticipation of a bidding war.
A key point of interest is which of the two sisters from the game, Zoe or Mio, Sydney Sweeney will portray. According to Variety, this decision has yet to be finalized.

*Split Fiction* has received high praise, with IGN awarding it a 9/10 and describing it as "an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another, [offering] a rollercoaster of constantly refreshed gameplay ideas and styles – and one that’s very hard to walk away from."
Hazelight's success in the gaming world extends to another of their titles, *It Takes Two*, which sold 23 million copies and is also slated for a movie adaptation, potentially starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
While there's always a risk that these adaptations may not come to fruition, the current boom in successful video game adaptations suggests a strong interest from Hollywood in bringing these stories to the screen.
Story Kitchen is not stopping with *Split Fiction*. Last year, they announced a film adaptation of Square Enix's *Just Cause*, directed by Ángel Manuel Soto of *Blue Beetle* fame. They are also working on adaptations of *Dredge: The Movie*, *Kingmakers*, *Sleeping Dogs*, and even a live-action *Toys 'R' Us* movie.
Meanwhile, Hazelight is already teasing their next game, keeping fans excited about what's to come.
