It's been quite some time since our last discussion about Ubisoft, and now, with the imminent release of Assassin's Creed Shadows next Thursday, the stakes are high. The success of this game could very well shape the future trajectory of the entire corporation.

Today, Ubisoft’s official channel unveiled a new video for the game. You might expect this to be the launch trailer, but it's labeled as a TV commercial, which sparks some curiosity.

The video itself isn't the problem—it's slick, cinematic, and visually striking. The concern arises from Ubisoft's apparent strategy of pushing the game through traditional media channels. While there's nothing inherently wrong with this approach, uploading a TV ad to Ubisoft's YouTube channel raises questions. This choice might seem like nitpicking, but it doesn't necessarily instill confidence in the upcoming release.

Nevertheless, let's set speculation aside. The video effectively highlights the contrasting gameplay and combat styles of the two main protagonists. The depiction of Japan is breathtaking, but one cannot fully judge a game based solely on a one-minute cinematic. We'll have to wait until the release to form a comprehensive opinion.
