Ubisoft's unannounced game, Project U, has been plagued by a series of unfortunate leaks. The troubles began in 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing phase started, with gameplay leaks surfacing. These leaks reappeared two years later, indicating that the project remains active and in development. Recently, following what appears to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic has been leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed by Ubisoft. The leak was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that more videos from Project U could surface if the game continues in development for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. According to the leaked footage, the game's narrative centers around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of chosen individuals tasked with fighting this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official word on when they plan to formally announce Project U.
