Subnautica is making its long-awaited debut on mobile devices. First launched in 2018 for PC and Mac, this deep-sea survival adventure quickly became a critically acclaimed title. It later expanded to PlayStation, Xbox, and next-generation consoles, followed by a sequel and a spin-off release.

Subnautica Mobile Release Date

Subnautica officially arrives on Android on July 8, 2025. Publisher Unknown Worlds has released a new gameplay trailer showcasing the mobile version. The graphics appear impressively adapted for smartphones, so here's hoping the performance matches the visual quality.

For those new to the game, here's what to expect. You assume the role of Ryley Robinson, the sole survivor of the spaceship Aurora crash. Stranded on the ocean planet 4546B, you must navigate its vast underwater environment.

As a survival game, you'll manage essential resources like food, water, and oxygen while crafting equipment and shelters. Construct submarines and underwater bases while avoiding dangerous native creatures.

The narrative unfolds through environmental storytelling. Mysterious clues hidden across the seabed reveal the planet's history and may hold the key to your escape.

Developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, Subnautica delivers a first-person open-world experience. Choose from Survival mode for the complete challenge, or opt for Freedom or Creative modes to freely explore the breathtaking underwater landscapes.

The mobile version features redesigned touch controls with optional controller support. Android players benefit from Google Play Games integration including achievements and cloud saves for seamless progress across devices.
