6 ImagesThese five cards form a "cycle," each representing one of Magic's colors. They are all low-cost, common-rarity creatures, designed with abilities linked to Tarkir's three-color clans, and feature a unique mechanic that converts mana into a clan-specific color.

Wizards of the Coast Senior Game Designer Adam Prosak explains, "Three-color limited environments require robust mana fixing at all rarities. We designed these creatures to help players address mana issues while simultaneously allowing them to advance their board presence. Unlike other solutions like tapped lands, these cards enable players to keep pace without falling behind."

She notes, "We wanted to illustrate how these clans have evolved since their last appearance. From the action-oriented Jeskai monks to the protective and vengeful Sultai Nagas, the supportive Mardu military, and the Abzan clerics working to restore lost kin trees, each clan brings something unique to the table."

Recent feedback on Magic sets has pointed out an overuse of thematic gimmicks, even in revisits to established planes. However, *Tarkir: Dragonstorm* stands out with its direct approach to revisiting Tarkir. Senior Worldbuilding Art Director Forrest Schehl acknowledges this feedback, stating, "Our vision for Tarkir was set long before *Murders at Karlov Manor* and subsequent sets. We aimed to integrate Dragons and Clans in a fresh way, with Dragonstorms playing a central role. Lauren and I were committed from the start to authentically build the next chapter of this beloved plane."

Tarkir: Dragonstorm is available for preorder now, with a release date set for both physical and digital formats on April 11, and in-store prerelease events starting April 4.
