"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"

By JacobApr 28,2025

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest postponement, although smaller compared to previous schedule changes, was quietly announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. This delay shifts the release a few months beyond the earlier target of the first half of 2025, but it comes with reassurance that the game is now complete.

"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."

While the delay is another setback in a series of disappointments for fans who have been waiting for years, the update video also brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative elements, and improved character development since the last major update. They have also teased that the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, the frequency of updates will decrease, as announced on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, with an initial launch planned for Q1 2020. The game faced multiple delays, including a shift to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. The significant change came in 2023 when Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, fans can look forward to playing the game in October 2025.

Despite the ongoing delays, The Chinese Room remains confident about the upcoming release. Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, another developer would take on the creation of a potential Bloodlines 3.
