Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap
Looking back on the past year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is joining the party with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.
What is a Snap Recap?
Unlike Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps focusing on detailed statistics, the Snap Recap offers a more casual, fun look back at your 2024 Snapchat memories. Instead of quantifiable data, it selects a single Snap from each month, creating a visual journey through your year. The Recap seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, allowing you to explore older Snaps from the same dates in previous years.
Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap
Accessing your recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. You'll find your 2024 Snap Recap prominently displayed as a highlighted video.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to start the slideshow. The selected Snaps will auto-play; tap the screen to advance more quickly. You can save, edit, or share your recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.
Why You Might Not Have a Recap
If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat Support indicates a staggered rollout. Your recap might simply not be ready yet. The frequency of your Snapchat usage and the number of saved Snaps are factors influencing recap generation. Unfortunately, if it doesn't appear after some time, you can't request one.
