Note: Piston works as a full car scanner when paired with an external ELM327-based Bluetooth or WiFi adapter. The app supports OBD-II (also known as OBD2 or OBDII) and EOBD standards.

All cars sold in the United States since 1996 are required to be OBD2-compliant.

In the European Union, EOBD became mandatory for petrol vehicles from 2001 and for diesel vehicles from 2004. Australia and New Zealand require OBD2 for petrol cars manufactured from 2006 and diesel cars from 2007 onward.

Important: This app can only access data that your vehicle supports and makes available via the OBD2 standard.
