RAM Booster eXtreme Speed does not operate in the background to automatically perform its functions. The only time it runs in the background is when enabling the 'Boost at screen off' feature, which requires a background service to detect when the screen turns off.

Different Levels of Boosting:

1. Standard: Boosting is accomplished by closing down third-party apps that consume a high percentage of RAM. Exceptions include apps on the whitelist, system apps, and third-party apps that use a low amount of RAM.

2. Intense: Boosting is achieved by closing down all third-party apps. Exceptions include apps on the whitelist and system apps.

3. Maximum: Boosting is accomplished by closing down all third-party apps and any stoppable system apps that consume a high percentage of RAM. Exceptions include apps on the whitelist and important system apps.

4. Ultra Maximum: Boosting is achieved by closing down all third-party apps and all stoppable system apps.
