Experience the thrill of Rummy 500, a captivating card game available offline!
Rummy 500 (also known as Persian Rummy, Pinochle Rummy, 500 Rum), shares similarities with classic Rummy but offers a unique twist: players can draw multiple cards from the discard pile, not just the top card.
In this popular variation, points are earned by melding cards, while unmelded cards (deadwood) deduct points from your score at the end of a round. The first player to reach 500 points wins.
Gameplay Highlights:
- Player Count: 2-4 players
- Deck: One standard deck with jokers
- Starting Hand: 7 cards per player
- Objective: Achieve 500 points first. If multiple players reach 500, the highest scorer wins.
- Melds: Form sets (3-4 cards of the same rank) and sequences (3 or more cards of the same suit in order). Card values determine scoring within melds.
- Turns: Draw a card, then discard a card. Alternatively, meld or build onto existing melds.
- Jokers: Wild cards, usable as any card.
- Discard Pile: You can pick up one or more discarded cards, but must immediately use the last card played to form a meld.
- Card Values: Royalty cards (J, Q, K) are 10 points each. Aces are 11 points (in a meld) or incur a 15-point penalty if held at the end of a round. Jokers take the value of the card they replace, plus a 15-point penalty if held.
- Rounds and Scoring: The game consists of multiple rounds, with scores accumulating until a player reaches or exceeds 500 points. Ties are settled with a playoff.
