Akupara Games has recently released a flurry of titles. Following their deck-building game, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle adventure, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available simultaneously!).

A Glimpse into the Darkside

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-laden night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, supernatural, and utterly absurd are commonplace. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly inept Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded unit of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll solve nine engaging cases, immersing yourselves in the humorous and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and monstrous tentacles to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. Watch the trailer below to get a feel for the game's unique atmosphere!

The game is a playful tribute to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, science fiction shows, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone hint at the game's unique blend of genres: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.

The game's remarkable humor is woven into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. You can also jump straight into A Fumble in the Dark without playing the first game – it's also available on Google Play.
