Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed To March 2025 to Implement Player Feedback

Assassin's Creed Shadows' Release Date Shifts to March 2025: Ubisoft Prioritizes Player Feedback

Ubisoft has announced a delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date to March 20th, 2025. This decision follows the integration of player feedback aimed at enhancing the overall gameplay experience and delivering a truly immersive title. This marks the second delay for the game, initially slated for a 2024 release, then February 14th, 2025, before settling on the current March date.

In an official statement across X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, Ubisoft explained the need for additional time to fully incorporate community feedback, aiming for a more ambitious and engaging launch. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot reinforced this commitment in a press release, emphasizing the dedication to crafting the most ambitious Assassin's Creed game yet. The extra development time, he stated, will allow for the complete realization of the game's potential.

The press release also highlighted Ubisoft's ongoing restructuring efforts, including the appointment of advisors to explore strategic and financial options for maximizing stakeholder value. This follows the less-than-stellar performance of several 2024 releases, including Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant.

While the official reason centers on incorporating player feedback, speculation among fans suggests the delay might be a strategic response to the crowded February 2025 game release calendar. High-profile titles such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Civilization VII, Avowed, and Monster Hunter Wilds are all launching in February, potentially prompting Ubisoft to shift Assassin's Creed Shadows to a less competitive release window.
