Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Leaks on Steam
A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion, set in feudal Japan, promises a significant addition to the game's already anticipated content.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, the series' first foray into East Asia, features dual protagonists: Yasuke, a Samurai, and Naoe, a Shinobi. The game's development has been turbulent, facing criticism and multiple delays, most recently to March 20, 2025.
The leaked Steam update, since removed, detailed "Claws of Awaji" as including a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities. It's claimed to add over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak emerged shortly after Ubisoft announced yet another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, the release was first pushed to February 14, 2025, and then again to March 20, 2025, ostensibly for further polishing.
The delays coincide with uncertainty surrounding Ubisoft's future, amidst rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition. This follows a challenging period for the company, marked by less-than-stellar performance of several major titles.
