Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a mystery box of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the reveal of a new map: The Tomb.

This January 15th celebration offers a comprehensive blog detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises. The highlight is The Tomb, a new sandy Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another thrilling location to the Zombies universe in less than two weeks.

Treyarch's story summary reveals that Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya, following Gabriel Krafft's instructions, investigate an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The catacombs, built on ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed until the early 1900s, hinting at mysteries yet to be uncovered.

The Tomb is described as a mysterious area connected to Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, a British archaeologist. Gameplay-wise, it offers a similar experience to Liberty Falls, featuring tighter play spaces focused on replayability and hidden Easter eggs.

Season 2 also introduces a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past games and the return of an iconic SMG. Further details remain under wraps.

Quality-of-life improvements are also promised, including community-requested features. Players can now track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies gets a co-op pause option, and players can rejoin matches with their loadouts if disconnected. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will also be available.

Treyarch shared Directed Mode statistics, revealing over 480 million hours played. The team notes that since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled, from 3.38% to 8.23%.

The Tomb's release will be particularly interesting given Activision's recent announcement regarding voice actor recasting for some beloved Zombies characters due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
