During the event, they showcased a captivating four-minute cinematic trailer that marks the beginning of the game's storyline. This dark fantasy action RPG transports players to an alternate version of Europe set in the mid-14th century.
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, players follow the journey of a young man named Coen, who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the game's intro. His mission is to rescue his loved ones from the clutches of vampires within a tight deadline of 30 days and nights. Time in the game advances only during certain moments, adding a strategic layer as players must manage it meticulously.
Coen's adventure is fraught with moral dilemmas, where players must decide whether he should cling to his humanity or embrace his dark vampiric nature. These choices will significantly impact both the gameplay and the narrative. A key mechanic, Blood Hunger, challenges players to ensure Coen feeds on blood regularly; failure to do so can lead to loss of control and potentially fatal consequences for important characters, altering the story's outcome.
Exploration is a central element of The Blood of Dawnwalker, with the game's world described as a "narrative sandbox." Players can roam through richly detailed environments where the time of day influences various aspects of the game. This open-world setting offers extensive freedom for player actions and decisions.
Currently in development for two years, The Blood of Dawnwalker is being crafted on Unreal Engine 5. The game is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, though an exact release date has yet to be announced.
