Crusader Kings 3 Devs Share Initial Insights on Nomad-Themed DLC

Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency: "herd." A ruler's "herd" directly influences their authority, significantly impacting military might, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core gameplay mechanics.

The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant migration. Players will strategically manage their movements, choosing between diplomacy with settled populations or forceful displacement.

Furthermore, rulers will command transportable yurts, similar to the adventurer system. These yurts can be upgraded with various components to enhance their functionality and provide unique benefits.

The expansion also features iconic yurt towns that nomadic kings transport with their migrations, mirroring the adventurer camp mechanic. These mobile settlements can be upgraded with additional structures, each offering distinct advantages.
