Deadlock receives another surprise update from Valve, this time focusing on adjustments to four heroes and several items. The changes are significant, particularly for Calico and, to a lesser extent, Holliday and Wraith.
Calico's abilities suffered considerable nerfs. Her "Return to Shadows" ability now has a ten-second longer cooldown, and 20% of its speed boost has been shifted to its level 2 upgrade. The damage output of her level 2 "Leaping Slash" has also been reduced.
Sinclair received a visual overhaul with updated sounds and animations, and his "Rabbit Hex" ability has been transformed into an area-of-effect (AoE) attack. Holliday and Wraith also experienced nerfs, though the specifics weren't detailed.
Item adjustments include a reduction in the number of stacks provided by "Ammo Scavenger," which also loses its health bonus. "Extra Stamina" no longer boosts fire rate, and "Restorative Shot" no longer increases weapon damage.

This marks the fifth Deadlock update of 2025 and the first of February. Valve has adopted a more fluid update schedule, releasing patches as needed rather than adhering to a fixed timetable. This latest update is a prime example of their new, more reactive approach to game development.
