Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming title will grant early access exclusively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco has yet to explain the omission of PC players from the testing phase. However, selected console players will enjoy a sneak peek before the official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, offering new challenges within a dark and ominous setting. While console gamers get priority testing, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future tests.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, citing the approximately forty-minute session length as insufficient time for message interaction. He stated, "We removed the messaging feature due to the limited time—roughly forty minutes—available within each session, making message sending and reading impractical."
