Squad Busters is ditching Win Streaks! This major update, effective December 16th, removes the consecutive win streak system. The developers cite the pressure and frustration it caused players as the reason for its removal.
Why the Change?
The Win Streak system, intended to reward players, instead created undue stress and negativity. While your highest streak will remain a permanent record on your profile, the feature itself is being eliminated to improve the overall player experience.
Compensation and Milestones
To compensate for the removal, players who reach specific win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes. Unfortunately, coins spent on boosting streaks will not be refunded; the developers explain this decision to maintain game balance between free and paid players.
Player Reaction
The community is divided. Some welcome the change, hoping for a less pay-to-win environment, while others are less enthusiastic about the removal, particularly given the perceived underwhelming compensation.
