Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam – a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game. This intriguing title recently received a significant update.
The update includes new language support for Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese. Further expansion is planned, with German, Italian, and Spanish support expected in the coming months.
But what exactly is Fantasma? Players hunt and battle mischievous creatures using portable electromagnetic fields as bait. Combat takes place in augmented reality, requiring players to maneuver their phones to keep the Fantasma in view while tapping the screen to attack. Defeated Fantasma are then captured in special bottles.
These creatures appear based on your real-world location, encouraging exploration. Sensors can be deployed to expand your search radius. Cooperative gameplay is also available, allowing players to team up.
Fantasma is free-to-play (with in-app purchases) and available now on the App Store and Google Play. Download links are provided below. Fans of AR games can also check out our list of the best AR games for iOS.
