The Flare Knife is a versatile combat item that becomes accessible relatively early in the game. Once you achieve Level 003 Code Clearance, you can visit Zakka in The Warren. Zakka is a key vendor who sells various weapons and combat items, including the Flare Knife, which can be purchased for 3,000 Entitlement Points.
To equip the Flare Knife, navigate to the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal. Select an available slot under Combat Items. If you've purchased the Flare Knife, it will appear in the list, allowing you to equip it and take it into battle.
How To Use Flare Knife In Freedom Wars Remastered
The Flare Knife is described as a reusable combat tool specifically designed for severing Abductor parts. While it functions similarly to Light Melee weapons, players wielding Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons can still use it to sever limbs without switching tools. However, the Flare Knife is a single-use item, meaning you'll need to purchase another one before the next Operation.
To activate the Flare Knife, lock onto the targeted Abductor limb and use your Thorn to pull yourself toward it. If the Flare Knife is equipped in the active slot, you'll receive an option to sever the limb. This triggers a quick time event (QTE) where you must rapidly press a designated button. Successfully deplete the health bar to sever the limb. Keep in mind that Abductors may counterattack by leaping or crashing into walls, potentially interrupting your efforts.
When playing cooperatively with friends, coordinating attacks can make severing limbs significantly easier. Repeatedly snaring the Abductor ensures it remains stationary, providing ample opportunity to execute the QTE successfully.
