Sucker Punch Productions will showcase Ghost of Yōtei gameplay in-depth during a dedicated State of Play event next month.
The studio confirmed deeper insights into this much-awaited samurai sequel through a PlayStation Blog update following June 2025's State of Play. Though the Ghost of Tsushima follow-up appeared briefly toward the presentation's conclusion, it primarily reaffirmed Sucker Punch's commitment to hitting its October launch window.
While Ghost of Yōtei's fleeting appearance might leave fans wanting, July's gameplay-focused State of Play promises substantial reveals. Though undated, Sucker Punch's presentation will exclusively highlight the sequel's "refined gameplay systems" spanning combat, exploration, and other key features.
The developer officially unveiled Ghost of Yōtei last September, introducing protagonist Atsu's brutal odyssey through 1603 Japan. Despite the prolonged wait since 2020's original - which nurtured sequel expectations - creative director Nate Fox assures authentic cultural representation matching the first game's standards.
Ghost of Yōtei launches October 2, 2025 on PS5. For all announcements from June's State of Play, click here. To bridge the information gap, explore our comprehensive coverage of known sequel details.
