This charm build focuses on maximizing your Nail's damage output during breaks in Grimm's attacks. Given the slower pace compared to Nightmare King Grimm, a Nail build is viable for landing multiple hits, thanks to Quick Slash.
Unbreakable or Fragile Strength is essential for any Nail build, boosting the damage dealt by your Nail. Aim to have at least the Coiled Nail or the Pure Nail before this fight to effectively deplete Grimm's health.
Although Nail builds typically include Mark of Pride, Longnail serves as a solid alternative here due to Grimmchild occupying two charm slots. Given the difficulty of avoiding hits in this fight, Grubsong helps keep your Soul gauge full. Unbreakable/Fragile Heart provides extra masks, allowing you to focus more Soul on casting spells.

Nightmare King Grimm takes the challenge to another level. He deals double damage, making him a lethal threat, and moves much faster than his Troupe Master counterpart. Additionally, he gains a new attack with flaming trails on most of his moves, which also deal double damage. The new flame pillar attack, however, can be exploited to land powerful Abyss Shrieks.
