Hades 2, the sequel to Supergiant Games' critically acclaimed 2020 roguelike action-adventure game, is currently in early access. The full game, along with console releases, is anticipated for next year. Launched in PC early access in May, Hades 2 has been lauded for its robust replay value and extensive content at this stage of development. With its first major update, Hades 2 promises even more hours of added content, featuring new dialogue and voice lines as the game's narrative unfolds further. The addition of Olympus, the mythical home of the Greek gods and the throne of Zeus, is set to intensify the gameplay experience.
In addition to these new features, several Nocturnal Arms and Abilities have been revamped, including the Specials for the Witch's Staff, Sister Blades, Umbral Flames, and Moonstone Axe, allowing Melinoe to adapt to various playstyles. Melinoe's Dash has also been enhanced to be faster and more responsive, enabling quicker escapes from hit-stun attacks. As Melinoe receives these updates, so do the enemies and the challenges they present.
Supergiant Games has introduced a variety of new enemies to accompany the all-new Mt. Olympus region, including new Wardens and a new Guardian. With the addition of a third region, adjustments have also been made to the enemies on the Surface:
- Chronos: Reduced downtime between phases; other minor adjustments.
- Eris: Various adjustments; she is now less likely to stand in flames.
- Infernal Beast: Resurfaces sooner after the first phase of battle; various minor adjustments.
- Polyphemus: No longer summons Elite foes; other minor adjustments.
- Charybdis: Reduced number of phases; increased intensity of flailing with reduced downtime.
- Headmistress Hecate: Loses invulnerability sooner after her Sisters of the Dead are defeated.
- Ranged-Attacking Foes: Fewer will fire at you simultaneously.
- Various other minor changes to foes and combat encounters.
