Hogwarts Legacy Upgraded to Switch 2 for Better Graphics

By AndrewNov 07,2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Hogwarts Legacy promises significant visual upgrades, lightning-fast loading, and introduces innovative mouse control support.

A freshly unveiled comparison trailer highlights one of the most noticeable improvements: gone are the frustrating loading screens when traveling between locations like Hogsmeade. The Switch 2 version delivers buttery-smooth transitions across the entire wizarding world.

The enhancements don't stop there. Expect boosted frame rates, richer textures, dynamic shadows, and more vibrant colors throughout Hogwarts and its surrounding areas – all showcased in the gameplay trailer below:

Those mysterious mouse controls have us particularly curious. While Warner Bros. remains tight-lipped about specifics, we're speculating this could revolutionize spell-casting mechanics for players.

Following Nintendo's upgrade policy, original Switch owners can experience these improvements for a modest $10 upgrade fee when the new version launches.

Set in the magical 1800s wizarding world, Hogwarts Legacy offers an expansive action RPG experience where players attend Hogwarts as fifth-years. The adventure includes magical creature encounters, potion brewing, spell mastery, and deep character customization – arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the console's June 5 release.

Our team adored the original, awarding it a stellar 9/10 in the IGN Hogwart's Legacy review: "Hogwarts Legacy finally delivers the magical Harry Potter RPG experience we've dreamed about for years."
