Hyper Light Breaker offers players a diverse range of characters to enhance their gaming experience, each with unique abilities designed to combat the Abyss King. Understanding how to unlock these Breakers is key to maximizing your gameplay.

Unlocking new characters in Hyper Light Breaker is straightforward but not explicitly detailed in the game. This guide will walk you through the process and introduce you to the characters available in the early access version of Hyper Light Breaker, which currently features two unlockable characters. We'll keep this guide updated as more characters become available.

How to Get New Characters in Hyper Light Breaker

To unlock new characters, you'll need Abyss Stones, which are dropped exclusively by Crowns (bosses). Before facing these bosses, you must first collect Prisms, which serve as keys to their arenas. You can find Prisms by following the golden diamond icon on the map.

After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost via the teleporter, choose the Breaker you wish to unlock, and use your Abyss Stones to make them playable. While there are nine characters in total, only two are currently unlockable in the early access version. The method for unlocking the remaining characters is yet to be revealed.

All Characters in Hyper Light Breaker

Each character in Hyper Light Breaker comes equipped with a SyCom, a crucial item that sets their base stats and core perk, defining their unique playstyle. Here's a detailed look at each character and their playstyles.

Vermillion

Vermillion is your starting character, equipped with the Gunslinger SyCom, which enhances his ranged combat capabilities. His Rail shots have a chance to crit, and a subsequent shot is guaranteed to crit if the first one does.

For those who prefer close combat, Vermillion can switch to the Tank SyCom, which boosts his armor upon perfect parries and offers better defensive and melee stats, making it a more robust choice.

Lapis

Lapis starts with the Lightweaver SyCom, which increases her Rail shot damage after collecting a Battery. Her standout feature is the Warrior SyCom, which enhances her core stats with each upgrade she receives.

Lapis becomes increasingly powerful with the Warrior SyCom, potentially outmatching other characters in terms of raw stats and becoming a formidable force on the battlefield.

Goro

Goro is tailored for ranged combat with his default Astrologer SyCom, which accelerates his Blade skill charge while shooting. The unlockable Sniper SyCom further boosts his critical hit rate.

Goro falls into the ranged glass cannon archetype, offering high damage output but lacking in defense. Mastering Goro's playstyle can lead to significant rewards, making him a potent fighter when used effectively.
