Infinity Nikki: Massive Earnings in First Month

Summary

  • Infinity Nikki has generated nearly $16 million in mobile game revenue in its first month, exceeding the previous Nikki series' revenue by over 40 times.
  • The game's success is primarily attributed to its popularity in China, where it garnered over 5 million downloads.
  • After an initial high of over $1.1 million in a single day, the game's daily revenue experienced fluctuations but saw a significant increase following the Version 1.1 update.

Infinity Nikki, the latest addition to the beloved Nikki series developed by Infold Games, known as Papergames in China, has achieved an impressive milestone by amassing nearly $16 million in mobile game revenue within its first month of release in December 2024. This game has quickly captivated the mobile gaming community, with its revenue stemming from in-app purchases of cosmetic items, outfits, and various game features.

Set in the enchanting world of Miraland, Infinity Nikki invites players to embark on a whimsical journey with Nikki and her charming cat companion, Momo. The game features diverse nations, each boasting unique cultures and habitats. At the heart of the gameplay is the dressing up mechanic, where Nikki's outfits not only enhance her appearance but also possess magical powers essential for progressing through the story. These outfits, empowered by Whimstars—physical manifestations of inspiration—allow Nikki to float, glide, and shrink, enabling her to solve puzzles and overcome challenges.

With an astounding 30 million pre-registrations, Infinity Nikki made a significant impact in the cozy open-world genre even before its public release, and it continues to dominate the market. According to data from AppMagic (via Pocket Gamer), the game's performance on mobile platforms has been extraordinary, though these figures do not include profits from its PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Windows versions. In its launch week, Infinity Nikki earned $3.51 million, followed by $4.26 million in the second week, and $3.84 million in the third week. By the fifth week, weekly revenue had decreased to $1.66 million, totaling nearly $16 million in its first month. This marks the franchise's most successful launch to date, surpassing Love Nikki's first-month revenue of $383,000 by over 40 times and significantly outperforming Shining Nikki's international launch in 2021, which generated $6.2 million during its first month.

Infinity Nikki Breaks Records with Massive First-Month Earnings

Infinity Nikki's success is largely driven by its strong reception in China, where it achieved over 5 million downloads. This accounts for over 42% of the game's total downloads and solidifies China's role as a major contributor to its financial success.

Following reports that Infinity Nikki's mobile revenue peaked at over $1.1 million on December 6, just one day after its launch, daily earnings gradually declined. By December 18, marking the end of the second week, the game still generated $787,000. The decline continued, with daily revenue dropping below $500,000 for the first time on December 21 and reaching a low of $141,000 on December 26, its worst-performing day. However, a significant surge occurred on December 30 following the release of Infinity Nikki's Version 1.1 update, with revenue jumping to $665,000, nearly tripling the $234,000 earned the previous day.

For potential players, Infinity Nikki is available for free on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. The game's developers are dedicated to maintaining its momentum by regularly introducing seasonal events, such as Infinity Nikki's Fishing Day Event, and updates to enhance the player experience.
