Today marks the global release of Alphadia III on Android, bringing the third installment of the popular series to players worldwide. Developed by EXE CREATE and published by KEMCO, the game initially launched in Japan back in October of the previous year.
What’s the Story in Alphadia III?
Set in the Alphadian Year 970, Alphadia III immerses players in the climactic stages of the Energi War, a monumental conflict centered around the enigmatic life force known as energi. The world is split among three major powers: the Schwarzschild Empire in the north, the Nordsheim Kingdom to the west, and the Luminea Alliance in the east. As tensions reach their peak, a clone soldier named Alfonso becomes central to the narrative. The story takes a pivotal turn when a girl named Tarte informs him of a fellow clone's demise, sparking a chain of events that could alter the course of the war.
What’s the Gameplay Like?
Alphadia III retains the classic turn-based combat system viewed from a side perspective, rendered in a nostalgic pixel art style. The game introduces several mechanics to enhance the strategic depth of battles. SP Skills, which charge during combat, can be unleashed at critical moments to shift the battle's momentum. Players can also utilize Arrays, which are battle formations and strategies that unlock progressively, offering varied approaches to combat depending on the enemy.
A novel feature is the Energi Crock, where players can deposit excess items while traveling. Over time, this Crock generates Energi Elements, which can be exchanged for equipment or other valuable items at designated shops. Throughout the game, players will encounter various factions such as the peacekeeping alliance Deval and the elite Nordsheim military unit Rosenkreutz. Additionally, different energi clone models feature prominently, with Nordsheim deploying the Berger Series and Schwarzschild utilizing the Delta Series.
Beyond the main storyline, Alphadia III offers ample side content and is optimized for controller use. The game is available for purchase on the Google Play Store at $7.99, with a freemium version also offered, which includes advertisements.
