In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, choosing between Pebbles and Herring as your trusty steed is a significant decision. Both become available later in the game, but offer different advantages.
Pebbles: You'll find Pebbles at the Semine estate before Lord Semine's wedding. While requiring purchase, she's Henry's former horse, offering sentimental value and a strong bond. Her initial stats may seem lower than Herring's, but after riding approximately 35 kilometers, she receives a significant stat boost, resulting in impressive final stats of 217 stamina, 353 capacity, 53 speed, and 12 courage. This makes her a reliable and cost-effective choice, especially considering the quicker perk unlock compared to other horses.
Herring: Obtained after completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls," Herring is offered by Otto von Bergow. His higher base stats initially appear superior. However, his stat boost, unlocked after 50 kilometers of riding, doesn't surpass Pebbles' boosted stats. Furthermore, he can be sold to Kabat for 300 Groschen if you already possess another horse.
The Verdict: While Herring boasts initially higher stats, Pebbles ultimately emerges as the superior choice. Her faster stat boost, lower acquisition cost (or even free acquisition), and the sentimental connection to Henry make her the more reliable and ultimately better steed for the extensive travels in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The sentimental value adds to her appeal, making her the perfect companion for Henry's journey.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
