Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Now Out - Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops, and More

By EmilyMar 24,2025

Warhorse Studios has unveiled an exciting free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – version 1.2, which brings two remarkable features to the forefront: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.

The integration with Steam Workshop streamlines the process of downloading and installing mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for third-party platforms. This feature's effectiveness hinges on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest, featuring mods like:

  • Free Saving: Automatically replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item for unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up new areas to explore.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra for a unique visual flair.

While the current offerings are limited, the vibrant modding community is poised to expand rapidly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to share their work across both platforms. Although Steam Workshop might not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's expected that popular mods will soon become available.

Alongside mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to refresh their look with new hairstyles or beard designs. Any style chosen will grant a temporary boost to the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a fun layer of customization and strategy to the gameplay.

Update 1.2 encompasses much more, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements, touching nearly every facet of the game. These include balance adjustments, smoother animations, and more lifelike NPC behavior. The crime system, for example, has been refined for better accuracy.

Additional enhancements include:

  • Revised daily NPC schedules for a more realistic routine.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and performance, especially in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios is set to discuss these changes in depth during a developer livestream next Thursday. Their commitment to the game's ongoing development is further evidenced by plans for three paid DLC expansions slated for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, providing an increasingly immersive medieval experience for its players.
