Lies of P's director, Ji-Won Choi, recently treated fans to a heartfelt message—a blend of gratitude and exciting teases for upcoming content. This follows the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game's successful launch a year ago.
DLC and Sequel Hints in Director's Letter
Choi's anniversary message expressed deep appreciation for the community's support, highlighting the team's dedication to developing the upcoming DLC amidst the Korean summer heat. He promised the DLC would build upon the original game's strengths while addressing previously reported issues. He stated the goal is to "do better on what we did well and improve in areas we have room to grow," emphasizing the importance of sticking to the fundamentals. The letter also acknowledged the contributions of Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
The most significant reveal was the inclusion of new concept art and a musical piece from the DLC's soundtrack. The art depicts P in a snowy location, gazing at a lighthouse, hinting at a new, potentially perilous chapter. While the shared track, "Lisrim," was composed earlier, NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the song and the accompanying music video, which visually aligns with the Lies of P aesthetic.
DLC Release and Future Plans
While a precise release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 earnings report suggests a launch in the second half of 2024. This release will coincide with several other NEOWIZ titles: The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy, Cats & Soup: Malang Town, Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe, and Project IG.
Previous teases included an eight-minute video showcasing early concept art, revealing environments like an imposing industrial complex and a treacherous shipwreck. Choi concluded his message by assuring fans that the DLC is merely the prelude to a full-fledged sequel currently in development.
