Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming, making it challenging for many players. To counter this, consider stunning the monster. You can find a Flashfly nearby to trigger and momentarily stun Ebony Odogaron. Alternatively, crafting Flash Pods to shoot at the monster can also immobilize it, giving you a crucial window to attack.
Bring Teammates
Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting, as you'll find yourself dodging more than attacking. The solution? Bring teammates. Use SOS signals to call for backup; other players might join, or NPCs can serve as shields, drawing the monster's attention away from you. When it focuses on you, dodge until it shifts its aggression to your allies.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the fight, look for areas with Entangled Rocks above. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning the monster for a few seconds. This tactic is a one-time use per fight, but you can also deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps twice to further immobilize the creature.
Beware of Dragonblight
In addition to its physical attacks, Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hinders your ability to deal elemental or status effect damage. To counteract this, use a Nulberry or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its effects.
Inflict Paralysis
Paralysis is a game-changer in this fight. Inflicting Paralysis on Ebony Odogaron will temporarily immobilize it, simplifying the battle. If you can knock it down near roots, it might get further entangled, granting you more time to deal damage.
Aim for the Head
The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, rated at a 3-star weakness. Targeting it maximizes your damage output, though it puts you at risk of direct attacks. If you prefer a safer approach, aim for its forelegs and tail, which, while less effective, might still allow you to break its limbs.
