Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

By ChristianApr 12,2025

Capcom has announced an extension to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous testing session. The PSN went offline around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and service was not restored until approximately 24 hours later. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and compensated PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.

The downtime significantly impacted players, preventing them from accessing online games and even affecting some single-player titles that require server authentication or a constant internet connection. The second beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was among the games affected, leading to a shortened testing period.

In response, Capcom has extended the next beta session by 24 hours. The new session will now run from Thursday, February 13, at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14, at 3am GMT, until Monday, February 17, at 6:59pm PT / Tuesday, February 18, at 2:59am GMT. During this extended period, players will still be eligible to receive the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game upon its release.

Despite the previous session's challenges, participants were able to engage with Monster Hunter Wilds' new formidable adversary, Arkveld. The game is set to launch officially on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
