MTG Aetherdrift Preorder Guide: Where to Find Booster Boxes, Bundles, and Commander Decks

By CharlotteApr 01,2025

Get ready to ignite your engines and assemble your crew as Wizards of the Coast introduces the thrilling world of professional racing into the latest Magic: The Gathering expansion, Aetherdrift. With a visually striking aesthetic reminiscent of Tron, Aetherdrift brings a fleet of artifact vehicles to the game, along with two innovative mechanics: "Speed" and "Exhaust." This multiversal expansion takes you on a "Death Race" that spans across the planes of Avishkar, Amonkhet, and Muraganda, promising an exhilarating journey through the Magic universe.

For those new to the world of Magic: The Gathering or seasoned players looking to dive into the latest expansion, your local game shop is the perfect place to start. Not only can you find booster packs and exclusive event items like Prerelease Sets, but it's also an excellent spot to ask questions and learn more about the game's expansions and various modes.

If you're planning to buy in bulk, major retailers have you covered. Aetherdrift is set to launch on February 14, and here's a comprehensive list of what you can preorder:

**Aetherdrift Booster Boxes**

When it comes to bulk-buying Aetherdrift boosters, you have two options: the Play Booster Box, which contains 30 Play Booster Packs, and the more expensive Collector Booster Box, which includes 12 Collector Booster Packs. Both types of Booster Boxes come with foil "Box Topper" cards.

Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift Collector Booster Box

012 Aetherdrift Collector Boosters, with 15 MTG cards in each pack + 2-card Box Topper $299.98 save 9%$272.99 at Amazon

Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift Play Booster Box

030 Aetherdrift Play Boosters, with 14 MTG cards and 1 Token or Art card in each pack + 2-card Box Topper $159.93 save 10%$144.44 at Amazon

If you're looking to quickly build or upgrade a deck, Play Boosters are your best bet. However, it's worth noting that recent expansions like Duskmourn included 36 Play Boosters in their boxes, whereas Aetherdrift only offers 30. If you're after alternate art and Mythic foils, the Collector Box might be worth the extra investment.

**Aetherdrift Commander Decks**

Aetherdrift introduces two new Commander Decks, both available for preorder. These decks are designed for the increasingly popular Commander game mode, which allows for multiplayer fun. Commander Decks are a cost-effective way to get started with 100 ready-to-play cards, making them ideal for Magic beginners. Each deck comes with a foil commander, a set of synergistic cards, and a Collector Booster Sample Pack for added excitement.

The first Aetherdrift Commander is Saheeli, Radiant Creator, leading an Energy-focused Red/Green/Blue deck named "Living Energy." The second is Temmet, Naktamun's Will, commanding a Zombie-themed Black/Blue/White deck called "Eternal Might." Both decks are available for around $50, with a bundle option including two copies of each deck for $180. You can view the full Commander Decklists here to see exactly what you're getting.
