Bandai Namco's fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its servers. This isn't entirely unexpected, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also struggled with gameplay issues and ultimately shut down.
Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutdown Date:
After a nearly seven-year run (launching in 2017), the game will officially cease operations on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.
Several events are planned before the end-of-service (EOS):
- Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - October 18th
- All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
- 'Thanks For Everything' Campaign: November 1st - December 1st
Players can continue collecting Ninja Cards, participating in summons, and using in-game items until the final day. Any remaining Gold Coins should be spent before the shutdown.
Reasons for the Shutdown:
While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and character defense mechanics, the game's decline began roughly midway through its lifespan. The introduction of Minato triggered a noticeable power creep, alienating many players. This was compounded by increasingly prominent pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features. These factors ultimately led to the game's inevitable closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those who wish to try it.
