Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio have unveiled new details about their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This stylish first-person shooter, boasting a striking visual aesthetic inspired by 1930s cartoons, puts players in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper.

Prepare for a noir-infused adventure filled with jazz, dynamic events, and plenty of mystery to unravel. Crucially, the developers have explicitly stated on X (formerly Twitter) that MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will be entirely free of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a pure, single-player experience is a refreshing departure from the norm.

The game’s distinctive art style, reminiscent of classic 1930s rubber hose animation, is a key draw. Players will navigate a vibrant yet corrupt city, battling mobs, gangs, and crooked politicians. A diverse arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives will aid Jack Pepper in his quest for justice. Expect a humorous twist on the genre, thanks to whimsical weaponry, a unique health display, and cartoonishly rendered enemies.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for release sometime in 2025.
