Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5090: A Deep Dive into Leaked Specs and Expected Performance

Rumors surrounding Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card are heating up, with leaked details pointing towards a powerhouse GPU. Expected to debut at CES 2025 on January 6th, the RTX 5090 promises significant upgrades over its predecessor.

Key features reportedly include a massive 32GB of GDDR7 video memory – double that of the anticipated RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. This substantial memory boost comes at a cost, however, with a power draw estimated at a hefty 575W. This necessitates a high-capacity power supply for any system hoping to utilize this card.

The RTX 5090, codenamed Blackwell, is part of Nvidia's next-generation graphics card lineup, succeeding the RTX 40 series. It will leverage Nvidia's proprietary Tensor Cores for AI-based tasks and incorporate features like DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and PCIe 5.0 support (on compatible motherboards). The RTX 50 series will face competition from AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.

Inno3D, a key Nvidia AIB partner, has reportedly showcased its iChill X3 RTX 5090, a triple-fan card occupying over three expansion slots. Packaging for this card confirms the 32GB GDDR7 memory and the 575W power draw.

While pricing remains unconfirmed, industry speculation suggests an MSRP starting at $1999 or higher. Nvidia has yet to officially comment on pricing for the Blackwell generation.

The full RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti, will be unveiled alongside the RTX 5090 during Nvidia's CES keynote. The new generation will utilize a proprietary 16-pin power connector, though adapters will be readily available.
